Frames A took the chance to join Triangles at the top with the latter’s free week, but were held to a 3-3 draw by mid-table Young Ones as reigning champions Rovers moved up to third place with a 5-1 win at Backwell Lucky 13.

Clevedon Conservatives B are fourth after a 4-2 win over bottom of the table Peelers. The Conservatives’ Mark Litson had a complete mare in the opening frame against Steve Rees, who then went on to defeat Mark Adams in a tight frame.

Mark had earlier made a 27 clearance to take the second frame against Andy Jones and then Mark Litson found his form by leaving Bob Selby nothing to go for to level the match at 2-2.

Old friends Simon Cambridge & Bob fought out a typically tough frame which Simon took on the pink and then did likewise to Andy Jones to give his side the victory.

The match between two of the bottom four, Cleeve Corners and Clevedon Conservatives B, ended in a 3-3 draw with the highlights being Reuben Hurse’s top break of the week, 40, in the opening frame against Rob Brown and Irving Prowse also completing a 27 clearance to come from behind to defeat Alan Pople 48-34.

Breaks: R Hurse 40; M Lucas 31; J Marsh 30; M Adams 27*; I Prowse 27*; A Hind 22; C Bond 21; J Jarad 21; S Rees 20.
