North Somerset Tennis Academy held their first grade six under-eight and under-nine tournament at Cleeve Tennis Club on Saturday.

A total of 30 players, with many NSTA players in their first competition and others from Backwell, Portishead and Weston.

And a total of 63 matches were played in great spirit, with Joel beating Romilly in the under-eight final after some great serves and defence.

The under-nine final between Zente and Hugo was played to a very high level, with Zente winning a very close match.

Coach Stuart Bannerman said: “A big thank you to Cleeve Tennis Club for being such fantastic host and supporting NSTA and Brunel for continued support with trophies and medals.

“Thanks also to Dave, Caroline, Henry and John for helping with the event.”

Another grade six event for under-10s and under-12s will be held in the near future.
