Archant

Nailsea’s Charlotte Taylor-Green set a new women’s course record at the Newport 10k.

Taylor-Green clocked 34 minutes 43 seconds to eclipse the old mark and beat her personal best, which had been set at the Brighton 10k in April.

And, just as was the case at the Weston Super Half, Taylor-Green was followed home by Rachel Felton.

That success had led to Taylor-Green being asked to pace the elite British women at the London Marathon last month.

Having already paced the likes of Laura Muir and Lynsey Sharp on the track, Taylor-Green said: "The London Marathon is an incredible event to be part of and it has given me an insight of what to expect at next year's event."
