Clevedon Freshwater Angling Club member Mark Bromsgrove finished top at the club’s latest competition at Kingston Seymour.
The Main Lake at the Plantation Lakes complex at Kingston Seymour hosted the latest Clevedon Freshwater Angling Club competition.
Bright warm conditions greeted the competitors and the fish also seemed to like the unusual warm weather for the time of year. The lake has a good population of both carp and silver fish, making it a fair venue.
Mark Bromgrove has enjoyed a successful year with the club and is also familiar with the venue. He decided to keep things simple by fishing the pole at only four metres, loose feeding and fishing caster to net a tremendous 65lb 6oz, 50lb of which was silver fish and another match win.
England carp team member Mark Bartlett was second from peg 29 with 62lb 15oz. Mark used the method feeder and waggler against the island, using pellet on the hook to catch carp up to 6lbs.
Filling third place was Kev Perry with a mixture of both carp and silver fish on a range of methods and baits from peg 25.
The re-scheduled charity open match on the River Kenn is being held on November 18. To book, phone Adie Baker on 07988 736722.
