NAILSEA Running Club’s first race of the year is the Ironwood Challenge, which starts at 11am on February 27 from Long Ashton Sports Hall.

Described by the organisers as a ‘tough and challenging’ off road race, this run will certainly clear the cobwebs away.

The Ironwood Challenge is six(ish)
country miles of tracks, fields and forest trails above the village of Long Ashton. Entry forms can be downloaded at:
www.nailsearunningclub.org.uk or runners can enter online at Runners World
(www.runnersworld.co.uk) or enter on the day of the race. Entry fee is from £6 for
pre-race day affiliated runners.

For further information, contact race director Clive Collins on 01275 851596.

All proceeds after expenses are donated to mainly local charities. Last year, the club gave £500 to Action for Children, £800 to St Peter’s Hospice and £500 to Motivation, a charity based in Brockley which supplies wheelchairs to the Third World.
