RUNNERS will once again take to the streets of Clevedon this year for the annual Boxing Day Road Race.
Organised by Clevedon Athletics Club, the run is a popular event in the festive period with hundreds of runners and spectators turning out in the wintery conditions.
On December 26, there will be an under 10s fun run beginning at 10am, a 3km race starting at 10.15am and at 11am the main, four-mile race will get under way.
Race HQ will be at The Little Harp in Elton Road and the starting line will be next to the pub with the finish line on Salthouse Fields.
For the first time this year, there will also be a two-mile walk for people of all ages and abilities.
This will begin straight after the runners have set off at 11am and will follow a route along Old Church Road, up Chapel Hill, along Linden Road, Alexandra Road and then back down to the seafront.
Walkers can use the event to help raise money for good causes, either by gaining sponsorship or shaking buckets as they walk.
there is no need to register and walkers can just turn up on the day and make themselves known to the walk organisers who will all be wearing Santa Hats.
Anyone wanting to take part in the running races can get sponsorship forms from Strode Leisure Centre in Strode Road, Six Ways Sports in Six Ways or from Clevedon Athletic Club’s website at www.clevedonac.co.uk
