Rugby: Yatton take positives from big loss

Yatton under-15s took plenty of positives from their clash with Clevedon, despite it ending in a one-sided 78-0 loss.
Attitude and commitment at the breakdown and in the tackle was excellent for large parts of the game, as Yatton showed huge improvement.
But they conceded two converted tries at the start of each half, gifting their guests 28 points for very little effort.
Yatton’s best period of play came after the 10-minute mark as they made big hits and turned the ball over, but would move it swiftly to an attacking player who would find himself isolated.
Clevedon’s attack looked to maintain momentum from the breakdown or tackle for two or three phases, drawing in Yatton’s defence and then moving wide into space.
But captain Jake Damaral returned from injury after being out since September and Yatton also introducted new member Adam Weaver, who showed lots of potential during his second-half cameo.
