Yatton Under-11s gave a tremendous effort in two games against North Bristol.

YATTON Under-11s faced a squad double their size and playing the old rules, so they had to step up to take on North Bristol.

It was several minutes into a fast and furious half before North Bristol found a gap, but Yatton were straight back at them to level the scores. The match went back and forth with some excellent defence by Yatton, before North scored their second.

However, Yatton made a great steal and break-out of their own which saw them level 2-2 at the break.

The second half could have gone either way with both teams playing some competitive rugby, but the odd missed tackle and forced pass from the breakdown gave North the edge and the match ended 6-2 in their favour

A second match, and with their additional numbers it was effectively a new opposition, but Yatton were right up for it and took the battle to the visitors from the start.

Both teams were equally matched and it was almost time in the half before North scored the opener to which Yatton immediately responded to make it 1- 1 at the break.

An easy early score in the second half gave North the edge, but Yatton never gave up, their driving maul was a revelation and the team spirit they showed was brilliant.

North may have secured the win at 4-1 come the end, but the scoreline flattered to deceive and Yatton’s commitment to each other was tremendous.

Yatton scorers were Ben Clarke, Keiffer Dymond and Cammie Waites.
