Yatton girls prominent in county team

Nine members of Yatton Rugby Club were part of Somerset girls Under-15s successful squad.

NINE players from Yatton were part of the Somerset Under-15s squad who travelled to Cornwall and ran out 39-0 winners.

Esme Bird led the pack with surging runs and strong tackling, while Emma Kessler provided able support. Becca Hammond showed she continues to improve with strong running with the ball and Izzzy Elford demonstrated great technique and tenacity in the scrum.

Jessie Dadds organised the backs and provided leadership, while her sister Millie again benefited from her willingness to support with a third try for her county. Lucy Williams was inspired in her tackling and with ball in hand showed she is maturing into a strong winger.

Mia Lusted showed her maturity to add strength to the side from the bench and Lily Fowler showed her versatility in converting to full-back and ran strongly when the opportunity allowed.

Overall, the girls from Yatton demonstrated how far the side continues to progress and have been central to the Somerset side’s winning streak.
