HIGH-flying Berry Hill were made to fight for the points as they came up against a spirited Yatton.

In perfect playing conditions, the early stages of the game saw each side
cancel each other out in a series midfield exchanges.

Despite lively activity from scrum-half, George Osborne, Yatton rarely ventured into their opponents’ 22. Inevitably, Berry Hill began to find the composure and flare to open Yatton up and a series of scores in the second quarter allowed the visitors a 3-23 half-time lead.

Yatton responded well in the second half and found themselves encamped in Berry Hills’ 22 on numerous occasions. Eventually Yattons’ persistence paid off with a deserved try through fly-half Nick Raymond. Osborne duly converted to bring Yatton back to 10-23.

However, Berry Hill No 8 Sean McRoberts killed off any hope of a home team fightback with a late try.
