IN A season of highs and lows, this has to be the all time low for Gordano.

IN A season of highs and lows, this has to be the all time low for Gordano.

Chew Valley, still smarting from a 70 point drubbing the previous week, came out with all guns blazing and caught a depleted Gordano side with their brains and backbone left on the bus.

The home side produced their best display of the campaign so far, to run in three unanswered first half tries, with their backs defying the strong cross wind with a superb passing game.

It didn’t get much better in the second period for the lack-lustre visitors, looking more like crabs than sharks, as they went sideways with ball in hand, instead of running at their opponents.

Chew added a brace of second half tries to Gordano’s consolation score late in the game. Wing Josh Richards went over in the corner following a rolling maul.

With just a couple of Gordano players emerging with their pride intact from this debacle, there could be no Black Horse Inn man of the match award this week.

With even more influential players unavailable for next week’s trip to high flying Wells, the so called light at the end of the tunnel is still a long way off.
