Gordano lost a thrilling match by a single point as Stroud kicked a penalty with just minutes to go.
Gordano missed out on a historic away win after a last-minute penalty kick in a 10-try thriller.
Gordano travelled to Stroud in a determined mind wanting to right a few wrongs from their previous match at home and came out of the blocks in style and put the home team under a huge amount of pressure.
It was all worth it when Sam Hodge scored under the posts, conversion added by Dyer. After the great start, Gordano were put under pressure themselves and the next 20 minutes was all Stroud as they ran in four tries to take a 22-7 lead.
Gordano finished the half as they started and pulled themselves back into the game with another Hodge try.
The second half Gordano were the dominate side for most of it and with tries from prop Harry Ashwin and a breakaway try from winger Jack Last, with conversion added by Conner King, put Gordano in the driving seat.
The home side pulled one back themselves to keep their advantage. A try by hooker Blaine Southey set up the grandstand finish as Gordano led by two points but with 10 minutes to go it was too long just to sit back.
The home team were camped in the Gordano 22 for most of the time and when an easy penalty chance was given the home team took the points to take the game.
It was heartbreak for Gordano whose performance was miles ahead of where they were last time out. Two points away at the third place team isn’t the end of the world and Gordano will take a lot of confidence into the derby clash with Avonmouth on Friday night, 7.45pm at Caswell Lane.
