GORDANO’S hopes of a third win on the trot were crushed by one of the most exciting sides in the Somerset Premier League.

The game was over as a contest by half-time, with the visitors running in seven breathtaking tries, with a solitary Gavin Smart penalty in reply.

The second period was a more even affair, with the Sharks getting in the faces of the visitors and disrupting their flowing game. This tactic frustrated the polished Chard side, resulting in some predictably ugly clashes, culminating in a yellow card for Gordano and a red for Chard.

To their credit the home side raised their game, and scored two well deserved tries, with giant No 8 Marcus Stratton and centre Aaron French crossing.

The visitors, boasting several imported Kiwi’s in their line-up, kept the pressure on leaders Weston Hornets with this quality display.

Brothers Gareth (scrum-half) and Mike Yandell(flanker) were outstanding, but centre Joe Harris earned the Black Horse man of the match award.
