Gordano took a step closer to Twickenham with victory over Whitehall.

Gordano 16 pts

Whitehall 12 pts

GORDANO welcomed Whitehall of the Gloucester Premier League to Caswell Lane for a cup game which would take the winners a step nearer to playing at Twickenham.

Gordano took the lead after 20 minutes with a penalty by Joe Rowsell after good work by Fred Young and Joe Harris.

A promising move by Jack Hendy, Tom Arnall, Mike Yandell and Owen Abbott broke down, but Rowsell doubled the lead with another penalty. Just before the break, Whitehall scored a converted try to take the lead.

The hosts took the lead early in the second half when Ben Clarke and Hendy combined for Lee Worgan to touch down, converted by Rowsell. Whitehall hit back on the hour with a try to make the score 13-12 to Gordano.

With 10 minutes to go, more good work by Andy Peterson and Josh Richards earned Gordano another penalty, converted by Rowsell.

Gordano found themselves down to 13 with Worgan and Peterson shown yellow cards for infringements at the breakdown, but they held on for a memorable victory.
