Archant

Nailsea & Backwell saw their under-12s come out on top in a fiercely competitive derby with their Yatton counterparts on Sunday.

The home side began well and scored a try straight from the kick-off through their full-back.

But Nailsea & Backwell managed to slow the ball down and stop the fast Yatton back line from getting good possession, with their forwards slowly taking charge to give their own backs quick ball.

They were denied tries by a knock-on and being held up over the Yatton line, but did eventually manage to find a way through.

The final score was 6-4 in favour of Nailsea & Backwell, but it was a real hard-fought battle between the sides.

George B and George W were the try scorers for Nailsea & Backwell, as the two sides produced good rugby to the delight of spectators and parents.
