YATTON Rugby Club hosted another charity match for local team the Old Blues against Oldfield Old Boys.

The game was heavily contested by both teams, but the Old Blues emerged triumphant with a 25-10 victory, leaving them unbeaten.

Oldfield opened the scoring within the first few minutes with a fine try after their back line showed good hands and pace. Fortunately, the Old Blues responded with some fine forward play, linking with the backs leading to a responding try from P Morgan.

Shortly after, a great run from scrum-half M Rankin saw the Old Blues take the lead. Some fine mauling saw solid prop S Hill crash over the line extending the lead further just before the half-time break.

The second half saw attacking rugby from both sides with neither team giving an inch. More tries came from P Morgan (2) and Old Blues captain I Spiller, with Oldfield sneaking a final breakaway try.

There were some solid performances from the Old Blues, however, it was great to see the long awaited return from injury of front row specialist D Stone.

The Old Blues would like to thank Yatton RFC for hosting the game and Oldfield for travelling from Bath ensuring an opposition.
