Clevedon Community School pupil Rosie Graham-Hicks won gold and silver medals at the Wellington tournament.

ROSIE Graham-Hicks from Clevedon Community School, won a gold medal at the Wellington graded tournament.

Rosie has played badminton at Strode Junior Badminton Club for a while and has been coached by Judy Howse. Nicola Wall, who has recently been assisting Judy, put Rosie up for county Under-13 selection back in September and she got into the squad

As well as winning the gold medal in the Under-12s singles event and also took a silver medal with doubles partner Hannah Warren in the Under-14s doubles event.

NICOLA Wall, who plays for Clevedon Feathers and Bristol and District Club, as well as Avon County, along with her doubles partner Bron Wotton (Cornwall and Bristol and District Club), reached their second final in a bronze tournament at the Devon Senior Open and went onto win the tournament.

Nicola, who is joint county second team manager alongside Rob Armstrong, has been called up to play for Avon’s first team this weekend in Milton Keynes in the Premiership Division against Glasgow, Hampshire and Cheshire.

She is very excited and nervous, but disappointed she could have been playing in the same squad as her younger brother Chris Coles, who has been called to play in the Orleans Open in France.
