Five club records were broken recently at the latest Avon Track and Field League meeting by North Somerset Athletic Club members.

IN the third meeting of four in the Avon 
Track and Field League at the Yate Outdoor Arena, North Somerset Athletic Club 
continued where it left off in the earlier meetings with a superb winning team 

NSAC currently have a lead over Yate, Team Bath and Bristol with one meeting to go. There were several excellent performances with five new club records, including two Avon League records.

The club records came from Taryn 
Selway-Joseph, who broke his own Under-13 200m record with 25.7. Under-15 Kody 
Mortimer broke the club 3000m in a fine 
10.52.42, with Jonny Savill setting a club record in the same age group with a 27.40m discus throw.

Joe Freake broke a four year old record in the Under-11 long jump with 4.21m, a distance which also equalled the Avon League record. Joe went on to win the Under-11 75m sprint and ball throw.

There were several personal bests 
including Ella Murray in the Under-11 200m 31.90 and 70m hurdles in 14.0. Isabella Parselle improved her best in the Under-13 200m with 30.37, while also winning the 100m.

There was another PB from Brioney Cox in winning the Under-13 girls’ javelin with a throw of 19.55m. There were also PBs in the javelin for Sofie Andersen, Natalie Cheetham and Pippa Reilly.

Other winning performances in the 
Under-13s were from Sarah Smith in the 100m achieving a 13.69 grade 2 effort. Also hitting grade 2 levels were Ada’ora Chigbo in the high jump and Pippa Reilly in the 70m hurdles with 1.35 and 12.30 respectively. In the Under-13s, Adam Millward won the discus with an 
excellent throw of 16.73m.

The Under-15s saw Cecelie Andersen win the 1500m with a 5.19.62 and Anicia Skeates win both the high jump with 1.45m and the 75m hurdles in 12.60.

There was a winning return from injury for Ashley Pierson with a 11.32 in the senior 100m. Top point scorers on the day came from Toby Sims in the 100m and 200m scoring 39 points for the club and both Aidan Paul and Olivia Withers both scored over 40 points.

The North Somerset Club ended the day with relay wins in the Under-11 girls, Under-13 boys and Under-15 girls.
