Memorial race held at Portishead

Sailing conditions were tricky for Portishead Yacht and Sailing Club’s Lloyd Fryer memorial race.
Portishead Yacht and Sailing Club (PYSC) hosted their annual Lloyd Fryer memorial race, sailing conditions were tricky with a gusty southerly wind and 10 dinghies took to the water.
Nick Noble in his Contender mastered the conditions and won the race by quite a large margin. Chris Romans in his Laser was second, followed by Steve Pascoe in his Solo.
This is the 25th anniversary of this race, every year the club donates the entry fee and donations from club members to a local cancer charity, this year Weston Hospicecare were our charity. A cheque for £300 was presented to Rachel Mansfield from Weston Hospicecare.
