Portishead Running Club members have been busy this month taking part in a multitude of competititions.

Throughout April, Portishead Running Club members have been putting in some stirling performances all over England.

Mark Williams pulverised his marathon PB as he stormed to 2.57.22 in the Greater Manchester Marathon, where Karen Thompson’s 3.44.24 earnt her a top 50 place in the F40 category.

Further south and far away from perfect running weather and flat tarmac, Jane Roscoe tackled mud, fog, rain and 5,800ft of ascent to take top spot in her age category in the CTS Exmoor Marathon in 5.41.16.

Williams was back in action in a very different setting, running the Dead Sea Half Marathon in Jordan in just under 1.30.

Most recently of all, nine Portishead runners conquered The Big Smoke’s big heat in Sunday’s London Marathon. Peter Foster (3.27.24) led home a strong contingent comprising of Mike Luke (3.28), Pat Foley (3.34), Eddie Bragg (4.20), Caroline Brooks (4.20), Craig Thomson (4.52), Pascal Coulon (5.25), Ben Smith (5.45) and Nicola Poulter (6.28).
