Peelers and Frames A started the new season with victories in the Wrington Vale Snooker League.

THE Wrington Vale Snooker League kicked off the new season with 5-1 victories for Peelers and Frames A over Backwell B and Clevedon Conservatives A respectively. Champions Rovers opened up with a 4-2 win at Backwell A.

Clevedon Conservatives B opened up a two frame lead over Congresbury with Dave Crees beating Irving Prowse and Mark Litson gaining a good win over Reuben Hurse.

This only served to galvanise Reuben as he hit back strongly in the third frame against Dave. A good break of 31 saw him open up a strong lead to get Congresbury back on track. It was all one-way traffic after that as Roy Jenkins beat Mark and Bob Selby, with Bob also going down to Irving in a tighter final frame.

Breaks: Reuben Hurse 31; Jason Marsh 27; Paul Quick 25; Roy Jenkins 24, 22, 20; Mac MacGregor 21; Jeff Jones 20.
