Athletics: North Somerset youngsters among medals at South West Indoors

North Somerset AC saw 20 of their athletes claim medals and personal bests at the South West Indoor Championships at Cardiff Met.
Steph B continued to shine in the under-17 girls’ group with gold in the 200m in 26.96 and triple jump silver with 10.22.
After finishing fourth in the 300m in 43.61, she won 800m silver, was fourth in the 60m and 10th in 60m hurdles.
Hannah B ran bests in the 60m hurdles and sprint, to finish ninth and fifth, while Tilly S was sixth in the long jump.
James G was fourth in the boys’ 200m in 25.32, with Carlos T fifth in 25.34 and Adam R sixth in 25.53.
After finishing fourth in the 400m in 57.57, James was seventh in the 60m, while Ollie L won silver over the longer distance.
Harrigson G was fourth in the long jump with a new best of 5.70m, as well as seventh in the 60m and sixth in 800m.
The under-15 boys saw Chris R win 300m gold in 41.27 and Sam H take 800m silver, as George I won 60m hurdles silver, while also finishing fourth in long jump (1.40m), fifth in the 200m (29.15) and fifth in long jump.
Nyree P was sixth in the long jump with 4.52m, then take pole vault gold with a best of 3.01m, as Maisie J won shot gold.
Naomi H was eighth in the 60m, with Olivia Y in 10th place and 16th in the hurdles.
Two under-13 boys covered 10 events and Conor H (below, right) win shot silver (7.15) and finish sixth in the 200m (30.43) and high jump.
He won 800m gold and long jump silver on day two, with Reuben W taking 800m silver after fourth-place finishes in the 200m (30.20) and high jump (1.11) and sixth in the shot (3.80). He was also seventh in the 60m.
The only under-13 girl in action was Rosa F, who won high jump gold (1.20) and long jump silver (3.80), before adding 60m hurdles gold and placing fourth in the 60m.
