Noah earns American tennis scholarship

Nailsea’s Noah Pring has been awarded a tennis scholarship at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, USA.

Nailsea’s Noah Pring has been awarded a tennis scholarship at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, USA.

He will be studying a four-year degree in kinesiology, while playing tennis for the university in the highly competitive National Collegiate Athletic Association in America.

Eighteen-year-old Noah has just finished his A-Levels at Nailsea School, where he took PE, biology and psychology.

Noah’s tennis coach spotted his early promise and he has continued to enjoy and work hard at his tennis. He has represented Avon in the National Championships at Under-14s and 18s and he has played and won countless tournaments over the years.

In 2012 he was awarded the inaugural Fair Play Award by Avon Lawn Tennis Association. He is now a Level Two tennis coach in his own right and coaches at Clevedon Tennis Club, and has been ranked as high as 70th nationally.

Noah is looking forward to joining the tennis squad at University in Alabama, where he will be playing alongside two other British players, three Americans, two Spaniards, a Brazilian and a Chilean.

He will be training and playing a minimum of 16 hours per week in addition to his academic studies for his degree.
