Portishead Tae Kwon-Do students celebrated success at this year’s British National Championships held in Birmingham.

Tae Kwon-Do students from Portishead are celebrating their success at this year’s British National Championships.

Ten students who train with the TAGB Tae Kwon-Do Club at Parish Wharf Leisure Centre and Portishead Primary School are over the moon with their performances.

The British National Championships were held at the prestigious Birmingham Arena and there were more than 1,500 competitors taking part with international teams travelling from the Netherlands, Poland and the USA.

Senior instructor Jane Lambert said: “Everyone has been focussed and committed to their training and it is great when all that hard work pays off. We are very proud of all our students and it is very exciting to have two new British champions.

Tae Kwon-Do is such a great way to build confidence by encouraging you to succeed and to take control of your life. Beginners of all ages and abilities are always welcome.”

Medal winners: Jason Bright, third sparring; Nicola Bright, second sparring; Rose Cherian, first sparring; Phoebe Delafaille, third tag team sparring; Ali Sellars, first sparring.
