Athletics; Nailsea’s Ironwood Challenge proves popular as ever

Nailsea Running Club’s Ironwood Challenge race proved as popular as ever this year.
The six-mile multi-terrain race took in tracks, woods and fields north of Long Ashton and included nearly 180 runners.
The undulating course had plenty of mud and top honours were won by Sam Mitchell (40.38) and Jane Faram (48.10).
Results, men: Sam Mitchell 40.38, Jason Wray 41.39, Gareth Williams 42.06.
Women: Jane Faram 48.10, Sophie Voller 49.01, Emily Cox 51.10.

Nailsea Running Club is a friendly, sociable club based at Nailsea and Backwell Rugby Club.
