Nailsea got back to winning ways after the frustrations of a rain-affected defeat last weekend with a fine 125-run win at Frampton Cotterell seconds on Saturday.

Asked to bat first, Nailsea lost openers Ryan Orr for just six and Pete Hardcastle for a breezy 16.

After a further couple of quick wickets, in-form Ben Pinkney hit a rapid 44 and Steve Spencer a composed 41 in a decisive partnership.

Excellent contributions from Charlie Bircham-Davies (23), Sam Jervis (21) and James Taylor (19) took Nailsea to a very useful 221 all out at tea.

In reply, Sam Jervis was exceptional and continued his fine form to take 3-17 from his six early overs. He was supported by a three-over stint from Hardcastle (1-1) as Nailsea took the upper hand and never relinquished the pressure.

Vinnie Pinkney (1-15) chipped in with three overs, as Ryan Lester (2-4), James Baber (2-27) and a first senior wicket from the promising Max Davies (1-7) helped dismiss Frampton for 96.

Nailsea took maximum points and remain in second place in their division ahead of entertaining Failand & Portbury seconds at The Grove this Saturday.
