STUDENTS from the Nailsea and Yatton Tae Kwon Do clubs travelled to Paignton to compete in the TAGB Southern Championships.

The competition was fierce, but many of the students won through to the final rounds, some having to fight four or five opponents to get there.

Results: Zebedee Plas and James Caygil, gold and silver in the boy’s red belt sparring; Thomas Lewis, gold boy’s green belt sparring; Danial Lewis, bronze boy’s yellow belt sparring; Ben and Caleb Clarke, silver boy’s team sparring; Elanor Clarke, bronze girls’ sparring; Andy Cosgrove, silver men’s black belt sparring.

The remaining students - Lee Mole, Ben Caygil, Chris Green, Ethan Popham and Teiann Molegad, all moved up into higher weight categories, so found the competition a little harder than usual, particularly Ethan and Teiann who were fighting in the black belt division for the first time.

Anybody interested in training in Tae Kwon Do (the Korean are of self defence), can look at the club’s website www.andymoletkd.co.uk or ring Andy on 01275 343356.
