Matt’s back in action

Clevedon’s Matt Bembridge returns to the bodybuilding scene with a runners-up place at the British finals.
AFTER taking a year out of competition, natural (drug free) bodybuilding champion Matt Bembridge from Clevedon graced the bodybuilding stage once more.
He regained his South West Middleweight crown (previously won in 2009) and qualification to the Britain finals.
At his lightest competitive weight to date (11st 2lbs), Matt entered as one of the lightest in his class against some stiff competition, including former pro Mr World (Mark Oakes).
Undeterred, Matt enjoyed his morning pre-judge and posed well, before entertaining the audience in the evening show with a good-humoured individual posing routine to the Baywatch theme.
Matt ended the day finishing runner-up (third place) to the eventual overall winner Mark Oakes. Representing the same gym (Bob’s Gym, Avonmouth), Matt was joined in the natural bodybuilding finals by Jeff Worgan (Pill), who placed fourth in the Over-50s class.
Matt would like to thank Charlie (his partner) for her support (and tanning ability), plus friends and family. He would also like to mention local businesses, Bob’s Gym (Avonmouth), GymRatZ (Avonmouth) and Body Management (Clevedon).
