THE top break of the week in the penultimate round of the Wrington Vale Snooker League matches was Mark Walsh’s run of 53 in Clevedon Conservatives A’s 3-3 draw against league champions Rovers.

Frames A are second after winning 4-2 at Cleeve Corners, for whom Irving Prowse took the opening frame thanks to the better safety play against Nick Ollerenshaw. Joe Jarad took the second against Mike Gould with strong potting on the colours and Jason Marsh beat Reuben Hurse to put the visitors 2-1 up thanks to two visits to the table where he scored 56 points.

Reuben made the frame scores equal in the next against an out of touch Joe, but Mike didn’t get a look in against Nick in the fifth frame, who potted everything in sight. The sixth frame also went to the visitors to secure the win with Jason defeating Irving comfortably.

Triangle A moved a point closer to Frames with a 5-1 win at Backwell and Clevedon Conservatives B team finished their league season with a 4-2 win at the Young Ones

Breaks: Mark Walsh 53; Andy Sweet 31, 27, 22; Jason Marsh 30, 26; Simon Cambridge 30; Dave Bond 21.
