NAILSEA Ladies Hockey Club held their annual presentation evening at the Ring O’Bells.

NAILSEA Ladies Hockey Club held their annual presentation evening at the Ring O’Bells.

President Marilyn Garrett welcomed everyone and thanked the club’s committee for their hard work ensuring the smooth transition back to playing in Nailsea.

Congratulations went to the 1st XI for maintaining their position in the Central League, whilst the 2nd XI achieved promotion as champions of their division. The junior side also had a good season and many of them found themselves playing with the 2nd XI.

The year’s awards went to - 1st XI player of the year: Jess Chinn; 2nd XI: Cath Hole; clubperson: Tess Hughes; junior player: Alice Keyworth; most improved: Laura Turner; highest goalscorer: Cath Hole (35).

A special award, a lifetime achievement award was presented to Tracy Williams for her 30+ years of commitment to the club. Thanks and gifts also went to Tony Brown who retired after 30+ years of umpiring for the club.
