League leaders defeated by North Somerset

North Somerset defeated league leaders Chippenham to close the gap at the top of the league.

North Somerset hosted top of the league Chippenham and came away with a emphatic 5-1 win.

Prior to the game, North Somerset made changes to the starting line-up and saw Lewis Francuz making his first team competitive debut. These turned out to be crucial to the style and comfortable nature of the win.

North conceded an early goal in the first-half due to poor marking, but rallied and hit back swiftly to level the scores. North Somerset kept a tight structure through the half and they scored another goal to take the lead.

The hosts set about the second half with purpose scoring three unanswered goals and Ben Jones missed a penalty flick.

The three goals scored were built from quick sharp passing from the back and the movement of the forwards unlocking the Chippenham defence, before punishing them.

North Somerset are still undefeated in the league and current sit in third spot, just a single point behind the top two. The current form will be taken away to Firebrands on Saturday.
