Portishead's Harvey Lathrope enjoyed another successful weekend in the third round of the Rich Energy British Mini Bikes Championship at Redlodge recently.

After getting quicker as time went on in practice on Friday, the Gordano School pupil recorded two podium finishes in Saturday's 160cc and 140cc classes, finishing third and second respectively.

In his first 160cc, on Sunday, Lathrope moved up to first place, a position he held for three laps before he was hit on the last corner which ruled himself out.

Another crash in the 140cc ended his challenge. After moving up to second, Lathrope encountered an issue on the second lap as the 14-year-old fell off his bike.

But Lathrope didn't let his two crashes deter him as in his second 160cc, after starting in 17th place, he rode well to finish sixth.

In his second 140cc race Lathrope started 25th. After reaching 11th four laps in the race he was stopped due to a red flag. This meant he had to start again from 25th with eight laps to go. However, Lathrope made a good start to finish fifth.

In the third 160cc and 140cc races Lathrope dug deep to finish in third in the former, after starting from sixth place.

And after started in fifth Lathrope overcame a problem on the second corner to pick up his first win of the day.
