The Senshinryu Karate Association held its winter course and grading at Strode Leisure Centre in Clevedon.

The Senshinryu Karate Association held its winter course and grading under chief instructor Peter Dennis, 9th Dan, ex international Great Britain competitor & England Under-21 coach at Strode Leisure Centre.

More than 60 students attended with most obtaining their various kyu grade coloured belts. This was also a great event for the local instructors and higher grades to successfully show their prowess.

Two sisters from the neighbouring Nailsea club, Maddie and Mckenzie Port, achieved their 1st Dan black belts, while Luke Shipway (Clevedon) and James Wills (Portishead) attained 2nd Dan and Mike O’Sullivan went even further and accomplished his 3rd Dan.

The icing on the cake was complete when the club’s two instructors Derrick Williams and Jason Millard, attempted and passed (with flying colours) their 5th Dans, setting an excellent example to all of their students.

Both Nailsea and Clevedon Senshinryu clubs will be accepting new students after the Christmas & New Year Holidays. For enquiries, contact 07939 071122.
