Nearly 400 runners took part in Nailsea Running Club’s inaugural Tyntesfield Ten race.
NEARLY 400 runners took part in Nailsea Running Club’s inaugural Tyntesfield Ten race, held over the beautiful National Trust Tyntesfield estate at Wraxall.
In perfect summer evening conditions, the runners started in front of the historic house, then a short loop passing through the formal gardens, followed by a longer gruelling loop around the estate farmland and woods, before finishing the 10 kilometre course near the house again.
The field was led home by Matthew Newman (Clevedon AC) in 37 minutes 14 seconds, followed by Tom Room in 37.49 and Jon Cracknell in 37.53. The first lady was Annabel Granger (Bristol & West AC) in 40.26, who finished seventh overall. Second lady was Ann Singer (Portishead Running Club) in 46.9 and third Joanne Ross (Great Western Runners) in 47.35.
In the veteran’s races, the first over-40 man was Andrew Harrison (Great Western Runners) 38.56; over-50s: Paul Dodd (Chepstow Harriers) 41.05; over-60: Clive Harwood (Wells City Harriers) 42.26; first lady over-40: Niki Morgan (Chepstow Harriers) 46.18; over-50: Veronica Ford (Great Western Runners) 52.24; over-60: Brenda Avery (Chepstow Harriers) 54.34.
