Somerset Gryphons lost to second in the table Yeovil & Sherborne, with eight goals being scored in the second half.

Gryphons took on second in the league Yeovil and Sherborne, hoping to bounce back from a heavy loss the week before.

After a minute’s silence to recognise Armistice Day, the game started evenly and at half time the away team were leading 0-1.

The second half saw more action, with Yeovil initially increasing their lead, before Lara Ford pulled one back with a straight short corner strike. Amy Homitzky brought the scores level after some skilful turning in the D.

Unfortunately with all to play for, Gryphons were too keen to attack and the gaps in the defence allowed Yeovil to score a further four goals despite the efforts of player of the match defender Charmaine Baker.

Midfielder Leanne Cockram scored a planned deflection from Ford’s final short corner strike, but sadly for Gryphons Yeovil still went home with three well-earned points.
