AFTER winning the league last week, Somerset Gryphons’ final game of the season was about finishing on a high, but the performance was pedestrian at times.

Lacking the usual impetus, the away team had impressive spells and hit home seven, but were never totally dominant and convincing. David Procter nabbed a hat-trick, Scott Mills hit two, Matt Pimble bagged one and an own goal added to the total.

Gryphons finished top with 61 points, five points clear of second place, after 20 wins, one draw and a loss, with an impressive 126 goal difference.

The team is looking forward to next season’s challenges.
