Clevedon Golf Club saw Chris Tucker crowned men's champion on the fifth extra hole of a thrilling play-off.
Tucker had carded an excellent two-under par round of 70 on the first day of the competition, to lead by five from Billy Blackall with Oliver Hayden one further shot back.
But George Cawse put together a very good second round as crowds gathered on the course and was on level terms with Tucker on four under par with three holes to play.
Cawse then birdied the 16th to take a one-shot lead, but Tucker responded with a birdie of his own at the 17th and both made great recoveries on the last after missing the green with their approach shots.
Both got up and down for par to set up a four-hole play-off, but still could not be separated.
That meant a sudden-death knockout to reach a conclusion and Tucker managed to hold his game together to prevail on the fifth extra hole.
Heather Priestley was crowned women's champion for the third time after edging out defending champion Sarah Martin.
The course was in fantastic condition, with sunshine finally returning to the region, and Martin's gross score of 85 was one better than Priestley at the halfway stage.
Conditions deteriorated on the second day, though, and the later starters had to contend with persistent drizzle.
But the standard of golf was not affected as Priestley carded an 88 to win by three from Martin, as Alison Lee finished third on countback ahead of Merriel Horler.
