Archant

Amateur golfer Ashley Mansell recently shocked the professionals at The Kendleshire.

SOMERSET county amateur Ashley Mansell, from Clevedon, showed the G&S PGA professionals a clean pair of heels as he won his first-ever PGA medal with a five under par round of 66 at The
Kendleshire.

He finished two strokes clear of
second-placed Giuseppe Licata
(Hambrook).

With the course in excellent condition, Mansell dropped a shot at the first before making an eagle three at the third and
birdies at the fifth, sixth and eighth to reach the turn four under par.

He dropped shots at the 11th and 12th before adding three more birdies at the 13th, 15th and 17th.
