Former Long Ashton ladies captain Roz Hughes presented a cheque to a local charity recently.

Springboard is a charity which helps young people achieve their potential and nurtures unemployed people of any age into work.

It helps alleviate poverty by supporting disadvantaged and underprivileged people into sustainable employment within hospitality, leisure and tourism.

Hughes worked hard with her committee and other club members to raise as much money as she could for the charity, who were thrilled to receive the donation.

The extra funds will be put to great use and a club spokesperson said: "Thanks to everyone who donated so generously throughout the year, not just financially but by also giving up so much time to make it all possible."
