Swiss Valley Rangers Girls Under-11s enjoyed a successful Bishops Lydeard tournament, finishing as winners.

Three Swiss Valley Rangers girls’ teams participated in two different tournaments and put together some excellent performances.

The Under-15s played at the Calne tournament and made it to the semi-final where they lost on penalties.

Alice, Emily, Yara, Zia, Keiana, Katie, Becca and Maisie played brilliantly in their first tournament together and were quoted as being the best football side by the eventual winners, who they beat in the earlier rounds. Luck wasn’t quite on their side to take this one all the way, but they did great nonetheless.

The Under-10 and 11 girls played at the Bishops Lydeard tournament.

Sophie, Xara, Maggie, Ella W, Nancy, Celia, Hannah, Jasmine M, Maddie, Lucy, Jasmine K, Ella B, Ella H, Libby, Kaylin and Darcy were split into two six-aside teams both featuring against each other in separate groups.

The Under-10s playing a year up played well, but did not make it through to the final.

Their Under-11 counterparts, who did make it through, put on an impressive display winning the final with an excellent headed goal by Ella.

The team were jubilant beating their previous 2017 result at the same tournament where they finished as runners-up.
