Nailsea United hosted Bristol Rovers Under-18s at The Grove on Friday.

Nailsea United, with former Clevedon Town favourite Steve Lester in charge, assisted by Jimmy Wring, continue their pre-season programme by hosting the exciting and successful Bristol Rovers Under-18 team in a high-profile friendly at The Grove on Friday at 6.30pm.

Nailsea have already completed two warm-up matches against tough opposition with a visit to Welsh League Division One club Aberbargoed Buds and at home to Street from the Toolstation League.

But it is the visit of the young Bristol Rovers team that will give manager Steve Lester the best indication of his first team squad for the forthcoming Somerset County League Premier Division matches.

The Rovers side is managed by ex-Bristol City player Alan Walsh who, since taking over the running of the Under-18 squad, has brought great success at this level to the club.

These are exciting times for Nailsea United, with their new pitchside changing facilities due for completion in mid-August and a new management team in charge.
