PORTISHEAD Reserves travelled to Keynsham to take on first division Frys in the Somerset Senior Cup.

Playing into a strong wind, Posset made the perfect start on 15 minutes when striker Nic Steadman scored his fifth goal of the season after a lovely reverse pass from Luke Jones.

Frys got back into the game 10 minutes later when defender Dave O’Reilly failed to clear and the Frys centre-forward beat keeper James Hailwood.

Posset had two strong penalty claims turned down, the first when Steadman was tackled from behind and minutes later Jones was upended in the box as the half finished 1-1.

With the wind in their favour, Posset took the lead on 55 minutes after good work by Jones who set up Jordan Cleary to smash the ball home from the edge of the area.

Young Matt Jones replaced Steadman on the hour and Aaron Hill went off with a sprained ankle and he was replaced by John Filliter.

Posset wrapped up the game on 85 minutes when Jones raced clear of the home defence and squared the ball for Charlie Aldom to score.

The Richwood construction man of the match was left back Aaron Hill.
