Rebecca back from international duty

Rebecca Holloway, aged 17, has just returned from international duty with Northern Ireland.
SEVENTEEN-year-old Rebecca Holloway has just returned from international duty with Northern Ireland.
The former Golden Valley Primary School and Backwell School student played for Northern Ireland Under-19s against Hungary, Poland and Lithuania in the UEFA European championships in Hungary.
Rebecca started her footballing career with local boy’s team Nailsea United at the age of eight. She went onto girls’ football and joined Clevedon Town and later got selected for Bristol City Academy.
She eventually left Clevedon Town and joined Portishead girls until ending her club football with Backwell. In 2008, she was chosen to play for the Bristol girls’ representative squad and was invited to attend trials at Somerset Centre of Excellence in 2010. She was accepted and played for a year and has enjoyed games against Arsenal and Chelsea.
Prior to the start of her first year at college in 2011, Rebecca was invited to go for football trials. She was selected to play for the college and Bristol Academy Centre of Excellence. She was asked to play for Bristol Academy reserve team and is now a full-time member of the squad.
Rebecca qualifies for Northern Ireland through her grandmother and has also been included in the senior squad.
