PORTVILLE Warriors started its season at their new home ground, the Hand Stadium, Clevedon, with a hard earned three points.

Portville tried relentlessly to break the disciplined St Pancreas offside trap and had a couple of goals disallowed. Warriors went 1-0 up after having the majority of possession in the first 20 minutes, but St Pancras hit back to equalise before half-time.

The visitors started the second half well and hit the crossbar. The turning point came when St Pancras keeper handled the ball outside the box, which resulted in a red card and Adam Scrase finished from close range after Van Papantoniou’s free kick was deflected into his path.

Soon after, Portville scored their third goal from Papantoniou. The game was wrapped up by Gary Hunt, who worked for his goal all games and made it 4-1.
