Portishead Town celebrate winning the Hospital Cup after beating Worle Reserves.

Archant

Dave Clarke was the hero for Portishead Town A after his two goals claimed the Weston & District League's Hospital Cup at the expense of Worle Reserves.

Both teams reached the final after winning their semi finals on penalties and it was Portishead who started brightly at Burnham.

Clarke opened the scoring in the eighth minute and the North Somerset side went into half time with that 1-0 lead.

Town would double their advantage 14 minutes into the second half through Clarke again as he scored with a free-kick on the edge of the area.

But Worle would halve the deficit on 78 minutes when Dan Sprague also scored from a free-kick around the edge of the area to set up a thrilling climax.

However Town would hold on to take home the silverware.
