Portishead Town girls win Barry United tournament

Portishead Town’s under-15 girls won the Barry Town United tournament on Sunday.
Emily Edwards fired a hat-trick in an opening 3-0 win over Port Talbot, with Keiana Jones, Katie Quick and Edwards on target in another 3-0 victory over Cardiff Crusaders.
After falling behind to the hosts, Portishead levelled through Katherine Southern and saw Edwards seal a 2-1 triumph, before Southern and Quick struck in a 2-0 success over Aberdare.
Portishead then beat Villa Dino Christchurch 2-0 in the semi-finals, with quick passing and finishing from Quick, Southern and Edwards breaking the deadlock.
Southern slotted the second after a run and shot from Jones to set up a rematch with Barry Town in the final.
Jones and Southern combined to set up Edwards for the first goal, with Quick finding Edwards for a powerful finish to cap a 2-0 victory and the silverware.
Phoebe Delafaille held firm in goal, as Kim Parker, Hannah Osmond and Keira Howse impressed in defence.
The under-15 boys celebrated their Bristol League title-winning season at their end of season awards night.
Jack Booker took the managers' player of the year prize, while Max Andrew claimed the parents' award and Ethan Monks took the players' player prize.
Tyrese Bracey claimed the most improved player of the year award.
