Portishead Town’s under-15s romped to a 10-3 win at title rivals Downend Flyers as Storm Freya hit the West Country on Sunday.

Emily Edwards fired home an early opener, with Millie Rosenior setting up Keira Howse for the second goal.

Jones ran through for the third, before Rosenior’s cross was met on the half volley by Edwards and went in off the crossbar.

The hosts hit back with two goals, with Pheobe Delafaille chipped from the edge of the box, but Rosenior ran out of defence to send Edwards away to make it 5-2 at the interval.

Howse found Rosenior, to pick out Katie Quick for a pass to Edwards to net number six after the restart, before Jones scored three times in quick succession.

Jones then closed down a defender and set up Edwards for number 10, as defenders Kim Parker, Tilly Smale and Livvy Morgan held firm.

And although Downend got a late consolation, Portishead were emphatic winners.
