Portishead Town Girls Under-13s ran out winners of the Emersons Green Tournament.

Up against some stiff opposition, Portishead Town Girls Under-13s finished unbeaten in their group games with three wins and two draws at the Emersons Green tournament.

This entitled them to a quarter-final against Boco. An even goal-less game saw penalties ensue with Keira Howse, Romia Nash and Katherine Southern all scoring to take Portishead through to meet hosts Emersons Green in the semi-final. Portishead finished 1-0 winners thanks to a well-taken Keiana Jones strike.

With a final against league winners Team Mendip, it was a nervous start with teams evenly matched until Jones battled her way through a tough Mendip defence twice to settle the girls. A scrambled goal in the last couple of minutes for Southern ensuring Portishead were deserved champions.

Team: Keira Howse, Katherine Southern, Romia Nash, Keiana Jones, Abi Howard, Tamzin McGill, Megan Jefferies and Millie Rosenior.
