A draw against Long Ashton saw Portishead Under-9s lose their 100 per cent record.

PORTISHEAD Town Under-9s 100 per cent record was ended by a physical Long Ashton A team.

Portishead came closest to breaking the deadlock in a goal-less first-half with Ethan Monks seeing his diving header hit the post.

Long Ashton took a deserved lead in the second half, before Juniors equalised through Jack Nattress, following a mix-up in the Long Ashton defence.

With minutes to go, Monks ensured Juniors secured a draw with a headed clearance off the line. Man of the match was Charlie Chichester.

Despite creating several good chances, Juniors B team found themselves level at half-time against Long Ashton.

They continued to apply the pressure in the second half and were rewarded with a hat-trick from Reilly Civill-Holt. Further goals by Jake Foxon, Ben Collins and Rory Moir secured an impressive 6-0 victory, with Joseph Sands picking up the man of the match award.

A HAT-TRICK from Dylan Jewell-Deverson and another from Jack Thatcher saw Nailsea Rangers Under-11s come out on top in a 4-2 victory over visitors Clevedon United Colts in a rain-sodden game.

A commanding performance from Charlie Williams saw him pick up the man of the match trophy and round off a satisfactory morning for Nailsea.

LOOKING forward to this cup encounter and Division 1 opponents, Yatton Under-11s continued their unbeaten run.

With both teams playing some excellent football, it was Chew Valley who took the lead after seven minutes. Yatton continued to press forward, but could not break down the Chew Valley defence.

The second half saw some great team work from all players determined to score a goal. It was Yatton’s James McDermott who finally found the net to draw level.

With time running out, both sides were determined to the winner.

A George Langman 20 yard strike which went over the keepers head gave Yatton a second goal.

SWISS Valley Rangers Under-13s (Year 8) are looking for new players to strengthen their squad.
