The annual legends day at Nailsea United Football Club will be held on May 27 this year at the Grove Sports Centre.
On May 27, Nailsea United Football Club is holding their annual legends day at the Grove Sports Centre.
During the afternoon there will be games played out by four teams made up of existing and ex-players and this will be followed up in the early evening with a disco, licensed bar and live music provided by some of the clubs very own legends.
The club has been holding this event for several years and it is an opportunity for old friends to come together to reminisce about old times and also to remember members of the club who are sadly no longer with us.
The games will commence at 1pm with a minute’s silence in memory of Dave Williams, Derek Hucker, John Hobbs and James Colman, who all gave so much to the club and are missed greatly.
Alongside the games, the club will be displaying the exceptionally well-kept club records produced by former club secretary and greatest club servant, John Hobbs.
The records date back to the 1950s and give everyone the opportunity to look back through their own playing days throughout the afternoon.
If you have played for Nailsea United in the past and would like to be involved on the day, please contact club chairman Chris Adamson on 07725 176651, the club via Twitter @NailseaUnited or on their Facebook page.
The teams on the day will be mixed up to balance out all ages and abilities and the day is intended to be a fun event, so don’t worry if your best playing days are behind you.
